Diwali Vibes & Birthday Smiles – School Celebration Highlights!

On 16th of October 2025, the students and staff of St Monica English Medium School joyfully celebrated Diwali along with the birthday of  Principal, Sr Sharmila, held in the school auditorium during the morning assembly.

The celebration began with a prayer, invoking divine blessings for peace, happiness, and prosperity. This was followed by the lighting of diyas by School Manager Rev. Fr Melwyn D’Souza, Principal Sr. Sharmila, and the staff coordinator Mrs Archana and teachers  symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness.

A speech by Aniruddh from Grade 9 beautifully highlighted the importance of Diwali and conveyed heartfelt birthday wishes to Sister Sharmila. The festive mood continued with a Diwali song and dance performance by the students, spreading joy and brightness all around. Teachers and students then presented a special  birthday wishing song and a beautiful dance from students to honor Sister on her special day.

As a mark of love and respect, tokens of appreciation were presented to the Principal by the students and teachers. Our School Manager and the Principal addressed the gathering with inspiring words, encouraging everyone to live with gratitude, unity, and hope. Sr Sharmila expressed her heartfelt thanks to all the teachers and students for their love, wishes, and thoughtful gestures, making the occasion truly special for her.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and the singing of the School Anthem, bringing a graceful end to a memorable celebration filled with devotion, happiness, and festive spirit.
