Children’s Day Celebration
The Children’s Day Celebration at St. Monica English Medium School was held with great enthusiasm and joy on 14/11/2025 , Friday. The program commenced with a beautiful prayer, invoking God’s blessings for the day. This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a floral tribute to the portrait of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, to honour his love and affection for children.
The significance of the day was read, highlighting the importance of celebrating childhood and the values that Nehru stood for. The event then proceeded with the much-awaited Cultural Day Prize Distribution, where students from Nursery to Grade 10 were felicitated for their outstanding performances in various cultural activities.
The winners of the General Proficiency Awards of 2024-25 were also congratulated and presented with trophies by the dignitaries.
To make the day more memorable, the teachers presented a few delightful and entertaining performances, including songs, skit and dances, which filled the students with excitement and laughter.
Sister Sharmila, the In-charge Principal, addressed the gathering encouraging students to dream big and work hard. The Manager, Rev. Fr. Melwyn D’Souza, also shared a heartfelt message, appreciating the children’s spirit and reminding everyone of their value in shaping the future.
The event then concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. Shalini, followed by the singing of the School Anthem.
The entire event ran flawlessly under the skilled anchoring of Mrs. Milani.
The celebration was a perfect blend of joy, inspiration, and gratitude, truly making it a memorable day for both students and teachers alike.
